STREET PLAY, RADIO DRAMA AND PUPPETRY
Dr Ambrish Saxena has been actively engaged in theatre for more than 30 years. Besides proscenium, he has also been involved in street plays. He has been writing plays for stage, street and radio.
Dr Saxena has been involved in puppetry too, both in scripting and performance.
I. STREET PLAYS
Performance in scores of street plays on development issues, sponsored by government agencies during 1980s and 1990s
II. WRITING PLAYS
Have written number of short plays and street plays for last 30 years
III. RADIO DRAMA
Involvement in writing and acting in radio drama at All India Radio
- Empanelled as drama artist in All India Radio – AIR
- Acted in many plays and serials at AIR Varanasi and New Delhi
Notable serial was “Gali Aage Mudti Hai”
- Wrote a serial “Sapno Ko Sakar Banayen” (36 episodes) for creating awareness among adolescences on AIDS
IV. PUPPETRY
Participation in puppetry workshops and contribution to script writing
- Participated in puppetry workshop organized by Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi in Varanasi in 1989
- Participated in puppetry workshop organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in Pune in 1990
- Introduced Tradition Media involving Puppetry and Theatre as subject in Master of Mass Media program in GGS IP University, New Delhi, in 2007
