Theatre Recognition

Dr Ambrish Saxena has been actively involved in theatre for more than 30 years. He is recognized by national and state level institutions for his work. He has undertaken projects of U P Cultural Works Department and U P Sangeet Natak Akademi.

 

Dr Saxena has received grants under Individual Theatre Director Grant from the Department of Culture, Ministry of HRD. He has also been selected as Best Young Theatre Director from U P by Kendriya Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.

II. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AS THEATRE DIRECTOR

  • Selected as Best Young Theatre Director from U P by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, in 1991 and participated in one-month theatre workshop at National Centre for Performing Arts – NCPA in Mumbai under the leadership of Ms Vijaya Mehta. Had the privilege of being taught by Mr Naseeruddin Shah and Ms Rohini Hattangadi
  • Selected by the Department of Culture, Ministry of HRD, under Individual Theatre Director Grant in 1993 and 1994
  • Selected as Director for performing a play “Jan Vijai” in National Theatre Festival (North) in Lucknow in 1994
  • Invited as theatre director from U P to participate in National Theatre Festival in New Delhi in 1994
